Background:
The school is situated in quiet cul-de-sac in village close to the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors which was built in 1965 and is very much a part of the community, surrounded by extensive and attractive well-resourced playing areas. Children take part in village gala, collect harvest gifts and stage Christmas concerts for senior citizensm and also raise money for the village's millennium pond project and for charities such as the RNIB. Sports include cricket, football, table tennis, netball and gymnastics. After-school clubs and activities include French, wildlife, computer, sewing, recorders, drama, football training and basketball. School was also awarded with DfES achievement award (2002). Ethos: 'The school aims to develop an atmosphere of care and trust in which a child can feel secure and valued'.
