Background:
Stakesby Community Primary School was opened in 1974 and is located on the west side of Whitby. In recent years the school has gained a national reputation in environmental education, winning a number of national and regional competitions. The school recently opened a new state of the art library and computer centre. Among its many extra-curricular activities, the school provides an opportunity for pupils to play a steel drums. The school aims to provide a caring and secure environment where pupils are encouraged to respect each other's and to fulfil their true potential.
