Background:

Grewelthorpe Church of England Primary School is situated on Cross Hills in the picturesque village of Grewelthorpe just six miles out of Ripon within the catchment area for Ripon Grammar School. The school building was opened in June 2003. There are three classroom areas, an administration area, school hall, library, ICT suite and a staff room. The school has two playgrounds, garden areas and access to an enclosed field area. Various clubs and activities take place after-school. These include football, choir, recorders, French, basketball, gardening, cycle training and reading. The school also arranges educational visits, which may include day visits to museums and exhibitions and visits to school by outside bodies such as visiting orchestras. The school aims to provide a happy, caring and Christian environment, which promotes and values tolerance and respect for others and where all pupils can develop their full potential.
