Background:
Tadcaster East Community Primary School was opened in April 1977 and accommodates both nursery and primary aged pupils. The object of its curriculum is to provide a broad and balanced education for the children and achieve the aims of the school. It has an ICT suite and there are also computers in every classroom, which are used to support, develop and extend the learning of pupils from nursery onwards. Pupils are taught appropriate techniques to enable them to explore and use a wide a range of materials for imaginative and expressive work. A number of extra-curricular activities are offered including football, netball, cricket, rounders, fit start and gymnastics clubs and teams are involved in matches with other schools. Children are given opportunities to explore sound and develop rhythm. The school aims to provide a secure and caring environment within which children receive a broad and balanced curriculum and an equality of opportunity.
