Background:
Wensleydale School is a purpose-built, mixed comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18 years. The school is situated in the market town of Leyburn and serves the whole of Wensleydale. The school has good facilities with a number of general purpose classrooms, extensive playing fields, a newly refurbished library, fully equipped laboratories, workshops, computer suites and music facilities. It runs a number of clubs and recreational activities before, during and after-school. These include art and computer clubs, drama, sports and design activities. Staff run a wide range of sporting activities and teams for students throughout the year. These activities include competitive matches against other schools in athletics, cricket, basketball, football, hockey and netball. Other special activities and trips include theatre visits, concerts and leisure trips to places of special interest. The school aims to provide a high quality education for the whole community in a safe and supportive environment.
