Background:
The original school was set up by the Mary Waud Trust in 1708 and since then the trustees have voluntarily controlled the building (hence VC) and given generous support. The present building was completed on this new site in 1982 and currently consists of three classrooms, hall, administration area, library, cloakrooms, stores and kitchen. The hall is equipped with wall bars, ropes and agility apparatus and is not only used for Physical Education but also for assemblies, group activities, music and drama. A fourth class is housed in a modern temporary classroom, sited at the rear of the main building. Equipment for Technology, Science and Cooking, is stored in mobile trolleys which are easily accessible to each class. There are fiction libraries in each classroom. The Resource Room/Library was completed in December 1998 and houses the reference books, tapes, CDs, video player, two PCs, printer and scanner.
