Filey Junior serves the town of Filey on the North Yorkshire coast. The area comprises a mixture of privately owned and local authority housing, with children coming from a variety of backgrounds. The school has enjoyed a 'variety' of sporting achievements, including the football team winning the Top Primary Team Shield for 1997/98, two boys representing the district team, and the girls' team winning the five-a-side football league championship. Other sporting clubs include rhythmic dance, table-tennis, cricket and tennis.
