Background:
Founded in 1888, the school building contains five classrooms, a 'large' hall, two 'spacious' working corridors, two separate libraries for Key Stage 1 and 2, a special needs room and separate computer room. Hambleton's grounds are 'large' with two playgrounds, hockey and netball pitches and a wildlife area. Sporting standards are 'high', and pupils take part in 'regular' inter-school competitions in netball and football. It is 'at the forefront of ICT development' and has installed personal computers. 'Good use' is made of the internet and emailing services, including link ups with American schools. Hambleton's links with the local church are 'strong'. The school has forged 'excellent relationships' with parents and the community. It has a 'strong and active' Parent-Teacher Association.
