Background:

Kirklevington Primary School is a small village school with an emphasis on nurturing and caring for the individual child. The school located within the heart of the village stands on the site of the old manor house on a ridge overlooking the Hambleton Hills. The school amenities include a foundation stage area and three spacious teaching bases for early years, middle school and upper school. There are quiet areas, art areas and a computer network. The school reference library and oriental garden lie in the middle of the school and are used by all children. There is also a large hall, which is used for assembly, lunch and social events. The children enjoy the use of two hard playgrounds as well as a large playing field with a rural outlook. A variety of after-school activities are offered during the year. Educational visits are seen as an integral part of the programme of work and are arranged regularly. The school aims to maintain a secure, caring and stimulating community in which children are encouraged to have respect for themselves and each other and are challenged to achieve their full potential.
