Background:

Nunthorpe School was built in 1964, in attractive grounds on edge of North Yorkshire Moors, with views over Roseberry Topping. The aim of the school is to promote excellence in teaching and learning. This school offers a broad and balanced curriculum, which allows all to acquire knowledge and understanding in all main areas of educational experience as well as relevant skills and sensible attitudes. The school has ten acres of playing fields including a cricket square, an artificial wicket, ample space for field and track events as well as pitches for soccer, hockey and rugby. This school offers a great diversity of extra-curricular activities. There are always societies, clubs and groups working together outside the curriculum to broaden and enhance the experiences of the students in the school. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, based in the Youth Club, gives students the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities. The aim of the school is to actively encourages personal growth and development.
