Background:
Originally opened in 1817, the school's present building opened in 1969 with additional building work carried out in 1978. The school is located in a semi-rural area. Pannal Village retains the identity and character of a traditional village community and many pupils also come from further afield. The school has a strong music tradition with upwards of 100 pupils receiving instrumental provision. The school choir regularly wins its class in the Harrogate Competitive Music Festival. A full programme of sports is available throughout the year. The school'supports one child-orientated charity each year by holding a sponsored event or donating proceeds of the Harvest Festival. The school is not yet over-subscribed but is 'close to the limit'.
