Background:
Threshfield School founded in 1674. The school completed an extension in glorious Jacobean style in 1999, which provided two new classrooms and a hall. It also provides Extra-curricular clubs such as guitar, recorders, drama, art and writing as well as sports, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and French. Educational visits are also arranged, financed by voluntary contributions by parents. There is a Friends of Threshfield organisation, which holds regular meetings and raises funds for the school. Threshfield was awarded the 1998 Charter Mark for Excellence, received five certificates of distinction from Education Extra between 1993 and 1998 and a certificate of merit in 1999.
