Background:
Built in 1871, this is a small school housed in a single large classroom. A second, smaller classroom and a room in the church are also used by the school. The school's outdoor facilities include a playground with a climbing frame, an environmental garden and a playing field for playing and sport. The school is raising funds to further develop the playground into an active play area. The village of Stainley has recently undergone development during which new houses have been built and this has brought new facilities to the area. As a church school, North Stainley joins with the village to celebrate harvest. It also has links with Lightwater Valley and has devised a maths trail through the shopping village. This year the children are designing a new attraction for the Millenium Park Challenge, developing an area of the theme park. Each year the school holds a fundraising event for charity.
